Video: Nokia Posts A Video Of Snow    [ 22-02-2012 21:09 ]

Nokia's been hitting YouTube today, posting up a video teaser for next week's Mobile World Congress. The video centres around imaging and is entitled 'Get ready to capture a pure view'. It's full of crisp white snow and buzzwords like 'detail', 'depth', and 'definition'. Unfortunately none of that really tells us very much so just watch the video.

Samsung's 'S-Cloud' Delayed    [ 22-02-2012 20:45 ]

Author: Ivanov Konstantin   Source: ETNews     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Samsung are currently in the midst or trying to be more like Apple, at least that's the theory based on their recent advertising and comments from executives, so in the same spirit they're prepping their very own iCloud rival. The snappily titled 'S-Cloud' isn't faring too well it seems, with ETNews reporting that the service is not yet ready for the global market. Samsung's Media Solutions Centre is trying to build up the infrastructure necessary for the service by using a commercial solution from KT or perhaps Amazon. However, the heavy modifications being made to the infrastructure will almost certainly mean Samsung has to delay launch.

Video: iOS Bug Allows Attacker Access To Locked iPhones    [ 22-02-2012 20:26 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: via The Verge     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

iOS bugs are ten a penny it seems, but here we have a particularly nasty little one on our hands. In essence someone can gain access to your contacts even if your iPhone is protected by a lock code. Now to be fair the bug, discovered by iPhoneIslam, isn't all that easy to reproduce, requiring a spare SIM or access to the phone number associated with the handset in question, but nevertheless the bug does exist. Once the exploit has been employed the nefarious scoundrel can then make calls, access contacts, view the call history and even use FaceTime. Check the video below to see it in action.
