BlackBerry Bold 9780 Leaks Yet Again    [ 22-09-2010 18:27 ]

Author: Ivanov Konstantin   Source: Mainguyen     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

You could be forgiven for thinking that the Blackberry Bold 9780 was in fact already commercially available given the number of leaks that have sprung up about this handset. Well get ready for no surpise at all when you learn that it has ... leaked again! This time a bevy of new pictures from Vietnam have popped up. They show the device as previously seen, running Blackberry OS 6.0, but sadly there is no new information in the pics, just some eye candy for those patiently awaiting its arrival.

Andy the Android Goes On Sale At eBay    [ 22-09-2010 18:11 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Talk Android     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Advertising an ebay auction isn't something we'd normally do here, but when it's a one of a kind Amigurumi Android doll we just had to! For those unfamiliar with Amigurumi it's the Japanese art of knitting small animal dolls. 'Andy the Android', as the doll has been called by designer Xuan Nguyen, is a pretty cute little guy and given the limited nature of the offerring will no doubt prove a popular item to bid on. The official description from the auction reads:

"You are bidding on a brand new, amigurumi doll (Japanese for knitted or crocheted stuffed toy) based on Google’s Android.

The doll has been lovingly handmade in Australia by hobbyist crotcheter Xuan Nguyen who has given it the name, “Andy the Android”.

This is the third Google Android based doll that Xuan has made but the first one ever to be sold or put up for auction. It is perfect for Google Android fans, enthusiasts and collectors looking to acquire unique Google Android based merchandise.

The doll measures 12cm (about 4.5 inches) from the legs to the top of the antennas. It is tightly crocheted using yarn made up of 60% cotton and 40% acrylic. The doll also contains small plastic pellets in the feet to help it stand.
"

You can check out the auction here (and if you'd like to buy this for us feel free!).

Video: Official Desire HD Promo    [ 22-09-2010 17:27 ]

Author: Ivanov Konstantin     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

HTC have gone and released an officialm HD promo for the forthcoming Desire HD and it's a pretty decent look at the device given that the video is amost 8 minutes long. The promo is called 'HTC Desire HD - A Closer Look' and that's exactly what youget. The narration and tone of the video almost puts you in mind of an Apple video, but with less schmaltz and far less use of the word 'magical'. It's worth a look, especially if you're thinking of buying this device.

HTC Trophy Pic Leaks Out    [ 22-09-2010 17:26 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Pocketnow     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The HTC Trophy is a device that has been named in various documents before now, but there has been essentially nothing else on this rumoured Windows Phone 7  handset. Well that all changed today when Pocketnow posted up a picture of what it is claiming to be the HTC Trophy. Whilst obviously interesting to see the handset at last there isn't anything else to go on we're afraid. No specs, no release date, no pricing, nothing. Of course Win Phone 7 has a minimum specs requirement so you can take a stab at the specs list yourself, but hopefully the official list isn't too far behind this picture.

Blackberry Files For 'SurfBook' Trademark    [ 22-09-2010 00:06 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Unwired View     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

You remember the speculation surrounding the rumoured tablet device from RIM right, specifically the name of the device, which increasingly looked to be the 'BlackPad'? Well it seems that this might not be the name after all if a trademark filing RIM has made is anything to go by. The trademark is for the name 'SurfBook', which thankfully sounds less like a 70s era blaxploitation film than 'BlackPad' does. Interestingly enough though there is some chatter that the new tardemark may, just may, be due to a RIM tablet not actually running the BlackBerry OS after all. RIM purchased software company QNX back in April and there is some speculation that it may very well be software from QNX that makes it onto their tablet device. It would certainly explain the name change.
