The HTC Mozart, slippery eel that it is, has finally had its specifications pinned down for the world to see and as expected they're looking pretty. The specs come from a cheeky snap taken from British retailer Phones4U's internal inventory system. The specs have of course been speculated over and discussed before now, this is still the first time that they've been definitively printed down in black and white.
So here is what we're looking at:
So there we have it. It's due to launch this month, late this month to be slightly less vague and of course that all ties in with what we expect for the Windows Phone 7 launch itself.

Sharp have lifted the lid on the IS03, a new Android smartphone for the Japanese market that is packing some serious heat. The device sports a 3.5 inch 640x960 pixel resolution screen. Does that sound familiar? It should because it's the same resolution screen as found on the iPhone 4 ... yes that's right folks this thing has a Retina display! Whatever you might think of the iPhone or Apple the Retina display on the iPhone 4 is a pretty impressive piece of kit and it's great to see it making the transition to Android. That's not all though because the IS03 also manages to squeeze in 9.6 MP camera.
Annoyingly there is no word on a global release so this is bound for Japan only at the present. As such it comes with all the usual features expected there such as support for watching TV and contactless payments using NFC technology. If we're lucky this thing, probably in a modified form, will show up on European and North American shores too.

Sony Ericsson's X10 has been something of a lame duck given that its running Android 1.6, a rather outdated version of Google's mobile OS. One of the more annoying limitations of 1.6, from a user's perspective, is the lack of support for live wallpapers, which more recent versions of Android support. Well a quasi-solution to this comes in the form of AmbientTime Home Launcher, released by Sony Ericsson Japan.
AmbientTime is essentialy a home launcher for the X10 and not only does it bring the afore mentioned live wallpaper, it also ramps up the number of homescreens to 5 and introduces a rather spiffy new lockscreen into the bargain. All is not perfect though because there are some rather annoying flaws with the system. For one the live wallpapers are not changeable, you can only use what comes with it. Another low point is the lag that accompanies the new lockscreen not to mention the fact that the old default lockscreen appears when you receive a call.
It's a nice try mind you and if you want to give it a whirl you can download the apk here.
