Google is finally rolling out paid Android apps to more countries. Until now there were only 9 countries that could submit paid apps to the Market and only 14 countries could actually buy them. Not very good when you're trying to make your platform into a global success. Well Google have beefed up the submission list to include another 20 countries and the number of countries that can buy the apps they submit has risen to 32. This will roll out over the coming weeks.
Android is very rapidly expanding around the world and whilst it's obviously important for more people to be able to buy paid for apps, it's arguably even more important at this point for more people to be able to submit apps. Android's Market has been increasing in volume steadily and the 100,000 marker isn't far off now, and that's with just 9 submitting countries. Now that that figure has more than quadrupled the Market should be getting nice and crowded.

IntoMobile have gotten a chance to have a play with Windows Phone 7 ahead of its official launch later this month and they've recorded the experience on video for you to gawk at. Note though that the handset they're using in the video is not a final production unit, so cut it a little slack. The video is a fairly hefty six and a half minutes so there'splenty to see.
They go through things like the Xbox Live view, the contacts list, bing voice search, the Zune player and more besides. Definitely worth a look people!

Android's relentless march continues unabated according to new figures from a ChangeWave study. What's more, not only are more people opting for Android, they're liking it too. The survey covers the crucial period from June to September, the time when the iPhone 4 first appeared on the market. It's appearance, no matter how sensationalised, doesn't seem to have done much to quell Android's rise though as demand for Google's mobile OS shot up from 30% to 37%.
The graph below illustrates the point well, and note the rapid increase in demand late last year when the Motorola Droid was first released.
Looking at another graph we see how mobile OS preferences have changed between the last survey conducted in June and this one. Back in June some 50% of respondents said they would want iOS on their next smartphone. By September that figure had dropped to 38%. None of the other players showed any great gains or losses in the same time period. Now whether the iPhone's drop is to do with the much publicised antenna issues is something the figures here don't show, but it's not hard to envisage that it wasn't boosting the numbers.
When it comes to satisfaction the iPhone is still leading the pack with 74% of iPhone owners saying they are 'very satisfied' compared with Android's 65%. However, two points to note here; the first is that Android is very much the clear second place here, the other contenders are left trailng in its wake, and secondly Android is still iterating through changes very rapidly so we should expect to see this score climbing.
