There's talk amongst Droid Eris users that some of them have already received over the air updates for Android 2.1, which isn't officially available yet. The video below, from IntoMobile, seems to back up those rumours as it shows a Droid Eris running Android 2.1 in all its glory and might. Take note of the Sense UI in the video and its 'leap' feature.

Windows Phone 7 Hardware Details Get Firmed Up    [ 24-02-2010 16:54 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Pocket-lint     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

One of the more interesting piece sof information to come out of the Windows Phone 7 Series announcement was the news that Microsoft would be dictating certain minimum hardware specifications to manufacturers.  However, it now looks like there will be three chassis builds. The discussion of the different chassis types came about on a podcast called Frankly Speaking, which features two Australian Microsoft employees chewing the fat over tech in general and Microsoft in particular. The first chassis lays down some ground rules like a certain screen size, what sort of processor to use etc. Chassis two will be handsets that are permitted a slide out QWERTY keyboard and chassis three is speculated to be a candybar. All this compares with the 45 different builds that Windows Mobile has/had and represents a real shift for Microsoft in terms of how tightly they control the user experience.
