Apple have pulled the plug on the unofficial WikiLeaks app that was doing the rounds in the app store. The reason for the pull isn't clear yet, more than liely there will be some fluff given about it violating terms and conditions.
The app was priced at $1.99, which some baulked at given the ethos of the site and the fact that WikiLeaks itself doesn't charge for access. The developer of the app, Igor Barinov, wasn't affiliated with WikiLeaks.
Some may wonder about conspiracies; was Apple pressured by the U.S. government to remove the app? To be honest I doubt that, Apple has enough crazy reasons of its own to remove apps without any outside help.

It was already suspected that the forthcoming PlayStation phone would be branded under the XPERIA line, but that looks to be confirmed now as Jung Relations, a PR firm operating on behalf of Sony Ericsson have registered various domains containing the phrase 'XperiaPlay'.
Presumably that will be the name of the device, which many are expecting to launch early next year. The XperiaPlay will be packing some decent hardware according to the information that's been gleaned so far: a 1 GHz chip, Bravia quality screen, which should be at the very least 3.7 inches and half a gig of RAM.

Gingerbread is the talk of the town, well at least in Android land, and many an Android user will be wondering when (or perhaps if) their device will be getting the upgrade. Good news is to be had for Nexus One owners in that respect as it will be getting the update in 'the coming weeks'.
The announcement was made via the Nexus One's official Twitter feed. Sadly the phrase 'the coming weeks' isn't exactly very specific, ranging anywhere from next week to a month away.
