LG Makes Etna Official ... Meet the GW620    [ 14-09-2009 18:47 ]

LG have made the Etna official although it looks like the term 'Etna' has been completely ditched for the new moniker; GW620, which isn't quite as catchy if you ask us. At any rate this is LG's first Android handset and doesn't look to be anything too revolutionary or market shaking. It features what might be best described as a 'standard Android build' and sports a 5 MP camera and a 3" touchscreen. The press release puts the GW620 forward as a handset aimed at 'typical' users and 'young professionals' rather than serious business users. Availability should begin in Q4 this year in select European countries.

The fabled HTC Leo has finally made an appearance and what an appearance it is! The much talked about handset sports a huge 4.3" screen with a resolution of 800 x 480. The processor powering this behemoth is a 1 GHz Snapdragon effort. Running WinMo 6.5 it looks rather striking alongside the Touch Pro2, which is not exactly small itself. Of course there's no word on when this giant will actually be available, but we can only hope it's soon.
