Sony Ericsson Wants A Deal With Spotify [ 08-09-2009 15:45 ]

Spotify has just made its appearance in the Apple and Android app stores as you no doubt know, but it looks like Sony Ericsson wants in on the action too. Lennard Hoornik, SE's head of marketing, has been commenting on SE's aspirations of becoming a communications entertainment brand and as part of that wants Sony Ericsson to be 'truly open'. Now does he really meant that or is that just marketing talk? Well we don't know, but what we do know is that he seems eager to strike up a deal with Spotify so that Sony Ericsson customers have access to the massively popular streaming music service. If such a deal did come to pass it would be a massive coup for both companies given the widespread reach of Sony Ericsson, which could see Spotify spread far and wide, and it would instantly give Sony Ericsson both credibility as an entertainment brand and provide theircustomers with instant access to unlimited music. The question of course is whether spotify will be interested, but with two new mobile apps on the go it looks like they want to be available to as many as possible.

Pureness is certainly garnering interest and it's not hard to see why. Its stripped down almost spartan look and ethos are certainly something new when recent memory has been dominated by ever more powerful and feature packed devices. There isn't a huge amount of information on Pureness at the moment beyond what we are seeing in videos so things like price etc are up for debate although given that it's part of the XPERIA line it's probably not going to be the PAYG hit of the year. Anyway that's not the subject of this post, but rather another video of Purneess, this time a hands-on effort. Whilst thw video itself is interesting let's take a moment to appreciate the soundtrack; presumably the sort of music one best appreciates whilst whacked out on LSD or in some way 'buzzed'.
