New Batch of 3G S Impervious to Jailbreak ... For Now    [ 14-10-2009 19:48 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: IntoMobile     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The endless dance between Apple and the jailbreaking community continues unabated! The iPhone Dev Team have confirmed that the latest batch of iPhone 3G S to ship come with a ROM that is no longer vulnerable to the exploit, known as 24kpwn, that made it possible to jailbreak their predecessors. Of course it's a safe bet that the Dev Team are probably hunckering down to try and find a way around this latest move by Apple, but until they do the new batch of 3G S remain impervious and those wishing to jailbreak their new 3G S will either have to wait for a solution or trade it for an older 3G S model. Apple must enjoy these sort of games, between the Dev Team and Palm they're constantly updating their products and software to thwart anyone who wnts to use it in a way Apple doesn't approve of.

Spotify to Appear on 3 UK Handsets    [ 14-10-2009 14:14 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Current     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Spotify, the wildly popular Swedish music streaming service, looks set to make an appearance on 3 handsets in the UK before the end of the year according to Current. The first handset to feature it will be the HTC Hero, but it's expected to appear on other 3 handsets early next year. There is already a Spotify app for Android, and like it's iPhone counterpart it requires a £10/month subscription. There is no word yet as to whether Spotify will require a subscription for the use of Spotify on 3's other handsets or whether it will offer an ad supported service like the desktop version. 3 and Spotify are pretty close, with 3's parent company Hutchison Whampoa having invested in Spotify and 3's sister company INQ Mobile having it's CEO on the Spotify board.
