Author: Irina Turina   Source: Microsoft     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Microsoft has revealed some details regarding its upcoming Windows Marketplace application store, which is due to coincide with the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5, sometime between October and December of this year. In order to develop applications for the Windows Marketplace, Microsoft will be charging developers $99, for each individual year a developer wants to create applications for the Marketplace. Also, for each application published for the Marketplace, Microsoft will again be charging $99. However, the first five applications that a developer submits to the Marketplace, before the year's end are free of charge. Microsoft will be keeping 30% of sales revenue, with the remaining 70% going to the developer. Developers will be able to register with Microsoft during the Spring season, and begin submitting applications from Summer onwards. To begin with, the Windows Marketplace is schedule to launch in 29 countries.
