Nokia QWERTY-equipped 5730 XpressMusic handset    [ 11-03-2009 23:43 ]

Nokia have announced their latest XpressMusic handset - the 5730, which is the first XpressMusic-branded handset, equipped with a QWERTY keyboard. Running on the Symbian S60 OS, it comes with all the music features that are expected in a music-focused handse, such as stereo speakers, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The 5730 is due for release sometime in Q3, for the price of €280. You can read our impressions of the 5730 here. Technical specifications of the 5730 are:

  • Display: 2.4", QVGA resolution
  • Camera: 3.2MP, flash

Nokia have announced a second new XpressMusic handset - the 5330 slider. A novel feature of the mid-range 5330 is that light effects will appear around the keypad, depending on your chosen song, and set mood.

Nokia's OVI service is integrated into the 5330, with the ability for the user to add their favourite social networking sites to the device's home screen. The 5330 is set to launch in Q3, at the price of €160. Features include:

  • Connectivity: Quad-band GSM
  • Display: 2.4", QVGA resolution
  • Camera: 3.2MP, LED flash
  • Memory: MicroSD expansion slot
  • Extras: A-GPS, Bluetooth

A while back, Google revealed that for several markets, paid-for applications would be available from the company's Android Market. Previously, the Android Market only consisted of free applications. Today, the UK version of the Android Market will be able to have paid-for applications on the Android Market, for the very first time. As of now, there should be several paid-for applications available for download, for T-Mobile G1 users.
