Yesterday saw the official announcement of the successor to the LG Chocolate, the BL40, and with it a series of pictures showing off the handset. Well today we have the advert for the BL40 and typical of LG and reflecting the intended aim of the BL40 the ad goes for a stylish look although how much substance there is to it is a matter of personal perspective. The whole ad has a bit of an over the top feel to it and seems to be aimed more at women. At any rate it does a pretty good job of showing the phone off and imparting a bit of glitz to it. Notable is the inclusion of examples of multi-touch in the ad. Take a peek for yourself.

Are these the first pictures of a rumoured Philips Android handset? The pictures, from Cloned in China, purport to show the V808, a little known device that has remained rather mysterious. In terms of possible specifications it is believed to boast a 3.2 inch HVGA display and a 3.2 MP camera with video recording support. Apart from that sliver of information there really isn't much else concrete to go on apart from the pictures. They show a minimalist looking device, perhaps even a little spartan in some eyes. Android handsets have so far attracted big headlines with devices such as the Hero and the Magic earning good reviews and upcoming devices like Sony Ericsson's Rachael making waves and whetting appetites. Of course all that doesn't mean to say that Philips' V808 has to be anything more than mediocre, of course we hope it is, but not every Android handset is going to be Data, some will end up as daleks.
