Samsung S8300 Ultra Touch set to be announced at the MWC    [ 09-02-2009 21:27 ]

Samsung is set to announce a new high-end slider handset - the S8300 Ultra Touch - sporting a touchscreen, running on Samsung's TouchWiz UI and an 8MP camera, amongst other things, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.

Currently, information regarding release date, and pricing of the S8300 is unknown, but should be clear, come the device's announcement, at the Mobile World Congress, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from the 16th-19th of February. Known specifications of the device go as follows:

  • Connectivity: GSM/EDGE/HSDPA
  • Display: 2.8" touchscreen, AMOLED technology
  • Camera: 8MP, Autofocus, Dual LED flash, VGA video recording - 30 FPS
  • Memory: 80MB internal, expandable, via MICROSDHC slot
  • Extras: A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and MicroUSB connectivity, with A2DP, FM Radio, with RDS
  • Dimensions: 110 x 51.5 x 12.7 mm

UK online retailer Expansys have once again leaked another handset - this time, the much leaked E75 handset. It's likely that the E75 will be announced at the Mobile World Congress, which starts next week.

It'll retail for £390 sim-free, and should begin shipping starting March 13th Technical specifications of the E75 go as follows:
  • Connectivity: Quad-band GSM, Dual-band HSDPA
  • Display: QVGA resolution
  • Camera: 3.2MP, autofocus, LED flash, Video recording, at 30 FPS
  • Memory: MicroSDHC expansion slot
  • Extras: A-GPS, FM Radio, Bluetooth and MicroUSB connectivity, 3.5 mm jack, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, standard numeric keypad, Nokia Maps application
  • Battery: 1500 mAh
