O2 To Tattoo Phones This Xmas    [ 07-12-2009 21:14 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Pocket-lint     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

O2 UK is offering a tattooing service for mobile phones this Christmas. The service uses a laser to etch a design onto a phone and is available in the London Oxford Street branch and the Manchester Arndale branch. It;s a free service and O2 will be offering 500 designs for people to choose from. The designs take in the usual range of animals, band logos etc. If you want to see what designs are available head over to www.o2phonetattoos.co.uk and take a peek. If none of the designs tickles your fancy there is an alternative ... have your name tattooed on the phone instead. No doubt it will prove popular, but why limit this to just a couple of stores and why just December? It seems that this could become a popular service and would probably be a good money spinner if they levied a small charge.

Google Goggles to Appear on Android?    [ 07-12-2009 21:00 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: IntoMobile     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

A wee look into the future and the seemingly relentless rise of augmented reality. Google has revealed that they are working on a new search app called Google Goggles, which essentially allows the user to take a picture of something, anything really, and Google will show relevant search results for that picture. This isn't a new idea of course, but it is the first time we've heard that Google, the big daddy of searching, has been intereste din purusing this technology. According to a CNBC documentary that featured the technology Google is planning on launching Google Goggles on its Android platform first, but when, and even if, that will be is guesswork for the moment. Enjoy the demo video of the technology in action.
