White Galaxy Spotted    [ 06-08-2009 20:24 ]

Samsung Galaxy fans have something else to cheer about with this white version of the handset having been spotted. So far all we've seen of the elusive handset is the black version. The Galaxy runs Android, Google's open source OS, and expectation says it will be available first from O2 in Germany with other European networks expected to get their hands on it soon afterwards. So far there are only three Android handsets available, all of which are made by Taiwan's HTC. The Galaxy will join a slew of other Android handsets destined for release either this year or next, significantly boosting Android's profile.

O2 iPhone Exclusivity to End 9th October    [ 06-08-2009 20:17 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Pocket-lint     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

That O2's exclusivity on the iPhone in the UK is to end won't be news to many, but now a date for the end of the onopoly has been forwarded ... 9th October. The date was seen on documentation related to the exclusive deal between Apple and O2 was seen by news site Mobile Entertainment. It's the first time a specific date has been advanced, but whether T-Mobile and/or Orange will beging selling the iPhone on 10th October is unknown. It is widely believed that O2 will retain exclusive rights to the newer 3G S handset with the older 3G model being the one to become available on other networks. The documentation threw up another interesting gem, namely that whilst O2 has the right to sell iPhones until 2012, it's right to do so exclusively was only for 2 years i.e. it ends this year.
