Now we have a Google Maps version for Symbian UIQ 3.0 smartphones. This application is better with smartphones that the Java-version. It enables advantages of a touchscreen, provides higher productivity and speeds. In addition there is the support of My Location – place location without a GPS-receiver (info is communicated by means of cell towers). You can download your free version of Google Maps at www.google.com/gmm from your mobile phone.

LG Electronics has released LG-SH240 handset on the Korean market. It is designed for 3G networks and supports HSDPA. The device is packed in a metallic housing and its touch panel under the display is coated with special silicon textured material resembling leather. This adds the impression of leather touch, says the manufacturer. As for the form-factor, LG-SH240 comes with a slide-out numeric keypad. It incorporates a 2-megapixel camera for picture shooting, a frontal camera for video calls, an MP3-player, an expansion slot and Bluetooth interface. The “leather” handset is available in Korean stores for 400 000 Won (i.e. $400).

LG Electronics site has shared a picture of a not yet announced KT220 mobile phone. Taking into account the index and pictures available we assume it belongs to an entry-level class.

The source hasn’t provided other details on the product – however the picture hints at a 1.3-megapixel camera and a “a la Razr” keyboard (with call and player buttons not featuring this style).

A couple of days ago we shared several live pics of a budget laptop Intel Netbook. Now we’ve got our hands on more details of the new product called 2go PC.




The product is aimed at students and features a ULV-processor Intel Celeron M 900 MHz or 1 GHz, Intel 915GMS chipset, 512 MB RAM (upgradeable to 1 GB), 9” 800x480 pixel LCD, 40 GB HDD, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, SD/MMC slot. For $400 you also get a VGA web camera, Windows XP (Linux as an option), 1.5 kg, 2 USB-ports, 3 hours on a single charge. The new product is expected to hit stores in a couple of months.
