Warner teams up with Sony Ericsson, delivers Madonna's album    [ 05-06-2008 23:52 ]

Music has become increasingly popular on mobile phone handsets, and now Sony Ericsson and Warner look to capitalise on this, by bundling Madonna's latest album, titled Hard Candy, with selected Sony Ericsson Handsets. As is the case with manufacturers bundling music with handsets, expect Madonna-themed content to ship alongside the album. The deal will see the selected handsets ship with the album in twenty seven countries. If you don't wish to purchase the full album, you can purchase half of it. The deal comes into effect immediately, you should be able to purchase the selected handsets with the album as of now, in the following countries - Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela.

US network operator Verizon Wireless buys Alltel    [ 05-06-2008 19:49 ]

US-based network operator Verizon Wireless has bought-out fellow network operator Alltel, who currently have thirteen million customers, for a reported $28.1 billion in stock and debt. The agreement comes as the U.S. wireless industry faces an increasingly saturated market. So, this would bring Verizon's total number of customers to eighty million, ahead of leading network AT&T, who currently have sixty seven million customers. The deal should be finalised by the end of year, until then, Scott Ford, CEO and President of Alltel, will remain in his position.

Once again, leaked images of Palm's as of yet unannounced 800W have surfaced on the Internet. From the blurry shot, it looks to be your standard Palm affair, looks-wise at least. As for the release date, July 13th looks to be it. It should start selling for around $249, on Sprint.

We know the 800W should ship with Windows Mobile 6.1, come with 100MB-or-so RAM, 170MB memory for the user, Wi-Fi connectivity, and come with a 2.0 megapixel camera.
