Nokia's upcoming Tube handset – said to named the 5800, has appeared several times before – in spy shots, and it was most recently seen in the film The Dark Knight. Now, the first live shots of the device have emerged, you can make up your own mind on what the UI looks like. Remember, it's said that a higher-end touchscreen phone from Nokia is coming, possibly under the N-Series line. It was thought the Tube would appear under Nokia's Xpress Media line, but that's not the case – it'll come under the Xpress Music line instead.

Rumoured specs have been floating around for a while – to re-cap:

  • Operating System: S60 Touch
  • Display: 640 x 360 pixels, Widescreen – 16:9 aspect ratio, showing up to sixteen million colours, finger-driven UI, haptic feedback
  • Camera: 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss optical lens with autofocus, dual LED Flash
  • Memory: 140 MB RAM Extras: built-in GPS, 3.5 mm jack, TV-out
  • Battery: 1150 mAh
  • Dimensions: 111 x 52 x 14.5 mm
  • Weight: 104 grams

Microsoft releases new Windows Live pack for WM handsets    [ 29-07-2008 17:39 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: intomobile     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Most Windows Mobile-based handsets tend to come with a few Microsoft applications pre-installed by default – such as Live and Messenger, but, then again, some do not – due to operators removing them. Microsoft has remedied this, by releasing an all-in-one pack – however, Messenger is not included – compatible with Standard and Professional devices. The new Live pack lets users :

  • Synch Live contacts with contacts on their phone
  • Synch Live E-mail accounts – Hotmail, MSN, and Live View images and hyperlinks in e-mails
  • Respond to emails with voice recordings
  •  Upload photos to Windows Live Spaces

Sony Ericsson G705 leaked    [ 29-07-2008 17:18 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: SE4M     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Yet another Sony Ericsson handset has leaked – this time, the G705, rumoured to be announced in two weeks time along with another phone codenamed Remi.

Again, like all Sony Ericsson's before it, it seems to have no 3.5 mm jack, though it is a Walkman handset, but, still. It utilises the slider form factor, and, as far as tech specs go, very little is known, with the exception that it should have the following:

  • Operating System: A200
  • Display: 2.4”
  • 3.2 MP camera, with autofocus, and flash
  • 128MB internal memory
  • GPS, and Wi-Fi
