Second OTA update for the N78 rolled out    [ 16-07-2008 10:31 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Unwiredview     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

On June 28th, we reported that Nokia had issued the first OTA update for its N78 handset. The second version – 12.046, offers a general UI speed increase, improved naviwheel use, and improves on GPS performance. Again, like the first update, this one is only available Over The Air, not on the NSU. As the file size is a paltry 1MB, it's possible to do the update over EDGE, should you so wish, if not, the obvious 3G and Wi-Fi are a more viable option to take. To get the update, go to Menu - Tools - Utilities - Device Manager - Options - Check for Updates.

HTC P3702 – same Diamond, less RAM, and plain back    [ 16-07-2008 00:15 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: GSMArena     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

HTC have released the P3702 in Taiwan. At its core, it's HTC's Diamond handset, but with a few changes – one of which being cosmetic. By that, the back is plain, no diamond-esque lines this time around. Now, that could be a positive for some, but the second difference won't be to anyone. The Diamond has 192MB of RAM – whereas the P3702 has 128MB of RAM.

On the Diamond, 64MB of the 192MB RAM is allotted to the dedicated video chip, so, for the P3702, that means less memory for the user, and possibly no video acceleration, but there is no confirmation on that. No word on whether or not it will be released outside of Taiwan.
