Garmin's upcoming first ever mobile phone - the Nuvifone, manufactured by ASUS, has been the subject of a few delays. It was originally set to be released anytime now, but had been put back to the first half of next year.

Garmin blamed the delay on issues with certain networks. Today, the device has passed through the FCC, it's possible that the handset could be released sooner than some might think. Though, no official announcement, in terms of release date, has been confirmed by Garmin.

Apple planning advanced motion sensors for new iPhone    [ 18-12-2008 00:24 ]

Author: Klimov Oleg   Source: Pocket Lint     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Apparently, the next iPhone to be released by Apple, whenever that may be, will come equipped with advanced motion sensors, say Taiwanese news resources. The technology in question, is MEMS gyroscopes. What this technology does, is determine the movement of rotation, just like Wii's MotionPlus accessory. One way it can be put to use, is to act as a form image stabilisation, when using your phone's camera, or, say, for controlling your digital home appliances, rich gaming experience and whatnot. Other companies, such ad Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Motorola, LG Electronics and Sony Ericsson, are also expected to use the technology in some of their devices for next year.
