Motorola i9 pictures now available    [ 17-12-2008 19:11 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: engadget mobile     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Motorola's i9 handset has been known about since October. Official images have now been made available. It’s a RAZR-esque clamshell handset, which has two screens (internal and external), and is equipped with what appear to be touch-sensitive music playing keys, situated below the exterior screen.

Little is known in the way of confirmed specs, aside from a 3.1 MP autofocus camera, with LED flash, as well as Bluetooth and GPS functionality. No details on pricing or release date are currently available. The first network to take this up is said to be US carrier Sprint Nextel.

Seven of Motorola's upcoming handsets for 2009 leaked    [ 17-12-2008 17:34 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: boygeniusreport     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

It's no secret that Motorola has perhaps been in the biggest slump of all of the mobile phone manufacturers - relying on the RAZR line too much, not keeping up with the advancement of mobile technology, and so on. There was even plans for the company to pull out of the mobile phone business altogether (click on the thumbnails below to enlarge).

Flash Rush 2 Calgary Inferno

However, four of the company's handsets, planned for next year, have leaked, and it seems the company is serious this time, about getting back in the game. Very little is know about the handsets, aside from the leaked images. It's known they will all be available on the US Verizon Wireless network, sometime next year. The handset, codenamed Rush 2, will hit the network sometime in Q1 of next year. To add to that, three more Motorola handsets have leaked the other day - again, all set to appear sometime next year, on the Verizon Wireless network. First, is the Niagra, which is a slider handset, sporting a RAZR-esque keypad.

Niagra Fairbanks and Harmony

Next up, is the Fairbanks (pictured on the left), which is a ruggerised clamshell handset, which comes equipped with Push To Talk functionality, as well as dedicated music playing keys, situated below the exterior display. Lastly, pictured alongside the Fairbanks, is the Harmony. The Harmony is also a clamshell, with touch-sensetive music playing keys, again, located below the external screen.

So, that's seven of Motorola's upcoming handsets leaked for next year. It'll remain to be seen if some of them can bring the company back to where they once were.
