Sony Ericsson Android-based handset not due in Summer 2009    [ 15-12-2008 19:43 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: SE-NSE     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Last Tuesday, along with thirteen other companies, Sony Ericsson joined the Open Handset Alliance, and said they are working on an Android-based handset, but, they didn’t say anything about a release date for it. Several Websites reported the handset is due for release in the summer of next year, which has been proved to be false.

According to SE-NSE’s blog, what is known is that the first handset from Sony Ericsson will be a high-end one, but Android will also be used in products for the mass-market. The company will still equally focus on the Symbian and Windows Mobile OS. No information for the first device running on Android is available, as of yet, and probably won’t be for a while, either.

Image of iPhone Nano casing leaked - looks remarkably similar to iPhone 3G    [ 15-12-2008 17:04 ]

Author: Serge Novikov     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Apple already showed us a patent for the iPhone Nano, back in July of this year - it was essentially an iPod Mini, with mobile phone capabilities. For navigating the device, a touchpad was present, which had different symbols, for each mode – for example, standard iPod controls, for when listening to music, and a numeric keypad, when using the device as a mobile phone.

That approach seems to of been scrapped, as a recent leaked image, shows an iPhone 3G XSKIN case, alongside what’s said to be an iPhone Nano. The Nano looks to offer the same multi-touch display as the 3G iPhone, and, of course, a much smaller size. If such a device were to come to fruition, an announcement could be possible at Macworld, to be held in January of next year.
