iPhone price cut due in France    [ 21-04-2008 22:22 ]

According to a French news source – Les Echos, Orange France might be dropping the price of the iPhone. O2 UK, and T-Mobile Germany have already cut the iPhones price, it is being said that Orange France may do the same. Apparently, two Orange France executives have taken a trip in to California, to discuss with Apple what can be done about unsold handsets, according to reports. However, Orange France strongly dismisses the rumour. What's more, an Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, is claiming that a 3G iPhone is coming to the Telecom Italia network, but they say it won't be network-exclusive. Stay tuned.

New 3G handset launched by Levi    [ 21-04-2008 18:02 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Pocket-lint     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Levi Strauss, most notably known for its denim jeans, has launched a new 3G mobile phone. It is to be launched in France, and, like the Apple iPhone, will be exclusive to the Orange network. Of course, it is engraved with the Levi Strauss logo. Levi allege that this handset is the only one on the market that combines a metal and soft touch finishing. The phone is aimed at young Orange customers, say Levi. Also, a whole bunch of accessories will launch alongside the phone, including wrist straps, and, presumably, a matching Bluetooth headset.

Here are the technical specifications of the device:

  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth
  • USB 2.0 port
  • Modem slot
  • Micro SD card slot
  • FM Radio

Two unannounced Sony Ericsson handsets on the Web    [ 21-04-2008 17:57 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: GSMArena     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Today, two yet to be announced Sony Ericsson handsets were leaked. First, we have the G502, which, with any luck, should be announced within the next two to three days. It is a black-coated candybar, featuring a 2 megapixel camera, and a 2 inch screen, supporting up to 262 thousand colours. It also features tri-band connectivity, with HSDPA support. The G502 will have these dimensions: 109 x 46 x 13.5mm, and will weigh 83.5 grams. The G502 will have 32MB internal memory, with an M2 card slot, Bluetooth 2.0, and USB 2.0 connectivity. It will ship by the end of the second quarter.

Next up, the long-awaited P5. The images you see below may not be the final production model however. The P5 should run on the UIQ platform – version 3.3. It will have a five megapixel camera, as well as Wi-Fi, GPS, and HSDPA connectivity.
