Sagem Mobiles (SAFRAN Group) has announced the release of an ultra compact mobile phone – Sagem my511X. At first glance the device attracts attention with its technologic design.

Many who like fashion stuff will choose Sagem my511X – it has sleek black surface with soft mirror effect, a TFT 128x160x65K color display and a touch-sensitive keyboard with rounded metallic buttons.

Being ultra compact (106.9x46.3x10.9 mm) and ultra light (81 g) Sagem my511X is easy in use. It features a 1.3-megapixel camera with video capture and 4x digital zoom, a media player supporting MP3 and AAC, WAP 2.0 (for Internet access), SMS and MMS messaging and Bluetooth interface. DVB-H to become mobile TV standard in Europe    [ 30-11-2007 17:37 ]

Author: Klimov Oleg     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Back to December 2004 the European Telecommunications Standard Institute, ETSI) accepted DVB-H specifications (Digital Video Broadcast Handheld) as the main standard for mobile TV-services in Europe. However the companies supporting this or that standard didn’t stick to the same policy. Nokia was actively promoting DVB-H, as the result, the ETSI is about to set DVB-H as the mobile TV standard in Europe.

To add, Germany, England and Holland objected to DVB-H, but after the directive is accepted they will have to follow it and contribute to development of mobile TV.

Glofiish X650 approved by FCC    [ 30-11-2007 12:56 ]

Author: Irina Turina     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved Glofiish X650 communicator. The model is almost the very X600, but with some improvements. It has the same form-factor – a candy bar without a keyboard. The device is equipped with a VGA-display instead of QVGA in the previous model. In addition there is an FM-transmitter to transfer sound to an FM-radio receiver, a more powerful processor 500 MHz and up to 256 MB ROM.

Recently E-Ten has held a presentation showing winter season communicators – Glofiish X60 and X650 and also M800 (a similar model to the X800 with a slide out QWERTY-keyboard).
