Samsung Electronics has introduced a couple of digital photo frames at CeBIT 2007 – the SPH-72V and the SPH-72H. Both frames are equipped with 7” 800x480 pixels displays and support music and video playback.

Unlike the SPH-72H the other model supports Wi-Fi networking and can display photos received via RSS-feed and images from Windows Media Player 11 due to integration with Windows Vista. Besides there is a 4-in-1 card-reader and a USB-host.

The photo frames are expected to come out in European shops in May. The approximate price makes up €229 and €179 for the SPH-72V and the SPH-72H respectively.

Voxtel has presented its new device – the Internet-phone Access 100. The model plugged to a PC USB-port allows making calls via VoIP technology. The company highlighted the support of Skype friendly to this application and its functions.

At CeBIT 2007 Gigabyte introduced an ultra mobile PC Gigabyte U60. As expected, the U60 is equipped with a 6.5” 800x600 pixel display and a sliding QWERTY-keyboard. It is based on Via C7-M 1 GHz processor.

The UMPC comes with 512 to 768 MB RAM, 20 or 30 GB HDD and an expansion slot for SD/MMC cards. Connectivity capabilities include integrated LAN and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), 2 USB ports. Apparently there is no Bluetooth support. The device weighs 720 g.

This is quite a budget model with the expected start price of $850.

Some sort of detailed informantion has become available on a new i-mate's device, which hasn’t been officially introduced yet. Judging by the preliminary info, i-mate JAMA is a budget communicator from the Urban series. By the way, the company hasn’t yet unveiled the Urban series, it is expected to comprise budget models against powerful devices of the Ultimate series.

The specs of i-mate JAMA:

  • Dual-band GSM/GPRS
  • 2.4” QVGA display
  • 2-megapixel camera
  • CPU - Samsung 300 MHz
  • 64 MB RAM and 128 MB flash ROM
  • Bluetooth 2.0 interface
  • 16 mm thick

The release of i-mate JAMA is set for May at the approximate price of €299-349.

Sony Europe has announced the release of a 4GB USB-drive from the Micro Vault Tiny series. These are tiny storage drives powered by flash memory. The sales of 2 GB Micro Vault Tiny started last year.

4GB Micro Vault Tiny features minor dimensions like its younger mates (30x14.5x2.4 mm). The drive is packed in a lilac shell hinting at the memory size, units with different storage capacity have different color solutions.
