The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved Philips Xenium 9@9W phone. This is another model featuring long battery life. The phone is packed in a candy bar form, besides it’s quite slim. The FCC documents list the following specs: a 220x176 pixel 262K color display, a 2-megapixel camera, an expansion slot for microSD cards and Java support.

ASUS has unveiled a new GPS-navigator R600. The device is peculiar for a built-in sensor, which can adjust display brightness automatically depending on the light level. In addition the R600 features multimedia capabilities – images, video, music. The navigator supports Bluetooth Handsfree, so the driver can keep attention to the road and answer an incoming call at the same time.

Preliminary 2Q financial results of LG Electronics    [ 20-07-2007 11:08 ]

LG Electronics has announced preliminary financial results of 2Q 2007 ended on June 30. According to the company, sales gains were 10 430 billion Won (approx. $11.227 million), a 12% rise compared to 2Q 2006. Operating earnings reached for 464 billion Won (approx. $499 million), a year on year growth of 50%.

Earnings in mobile communications sphere achieved 2.865 billion Won (some $3.084 million), a 24.4% rise against the same period last year Operating earnings grew by 11.3%. LG Electronics reports evident progress in handset segment. Overall shipments level in 2Q is 19.1 million devices and 34.9 million units over two quarters.
