Motorola has announced the final 2Q sales and earnings. We’ve already written about the preliminary results. Then Motorola acknowledged that earnings would be lower than expected. The company reported sales of $8.7 billion compared to $11 billion a year ago.

Handset shipments reached 35.5 million units, and segment sales were $4.3 billion, a 40% decrease against 2Q 2006. Besides operating loss made up $264 million compared to operating earnings of $804 million in the year-ago quarter. Lower sales and earnings are due to lower sales, particularly in Asia, and the Europe, Middle East and Africa. Motorola’s share of the global handset market is currently estimated to be 13.5%.

The release date of Nokia N95 8GB is said to be on December 1 2007. It’s not yet clear whether the source has the confirmation or it just rumor-addicted.
