Pegasus: an heir of ASUS P525?    [ 18-01-2007 17:13 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: Unwired View     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

In the Internet you can come across the info on a new product by ASUSTeK Computer. The pictures of ASUS Pegasus and some info about it were posted in the gallery of iF Design Awards site.

The device is said to be quite slim – 15.4 mm, powered by Windows Mobile and have GPS-functionality. We are likely to deal with an heir of ASUS P525.

It is made in the same form-factor – a candy bar with a digital keyboard. However we notice evident changes in design. Naturally the main distinction of the Pegasus from the P525 is in built-in navigation opportunities.

LG and Prada phone officially introduced    [ 18-01-2007 10:23 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Till the New Year LG Electronics and Prada had announced their common product. Today they announced the release of the KE850 or PRADA Phone. As it has been stated earlier the new phone is equipped with a touchscreen display. According to the developers, this is a unique, world first completely sensor interface.

I’d remind you that there was introduced another “unique phone with the completely sensor interface” on January 9 – a legendary before the announcement iPhone from Apple. It seems we deal with the founder of the phone series with sensor control. By the way, touchscreen phones are very popular in China and some other Asian countries, but they are operated by the stylus pen while the iPhone recognizes only fingers. As for the KE850, it’s not yet clear how the interface is implemented.

The new phone is said to have a widescreen display (no info on the resolution), which enables you to use key functions, including the camera, video player and document viewer. There is a 2-megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens. The screen icons fade away when the phone is idle. It’s possible to exchange messages during the music playback.

From Prada the phone got stylish design elements, ringtones, downloaded content and accessories. The phone is quite slim – 12 mm. The recommended price makes up €600. The release date is set for the end of February in the UK, France, Germany and Italy, and for March in Asia (Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore), the Korean version is expected in 2Q. The details are available at www.lgpradaphone.com, says LG, however the access is currently denied.

The specs of the PRADA Phone:

  • GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • 3” display
  • 2-megapixel camera with flash
  • Music player - MP3, ACC, ACC+, WMA, RA
  • Video player - MPEG4, H.263, H.264
  • User’s interface with Macromedia Flash
  • File viewer (ppt, doc, xls, pdf, txt)
  • microSD slot
  • 800 mAh battery
  • Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0
  • Dimensions – 98.8x54x12 mm

Live photos of HTC Vox smartphone    [ 18-01-2007 09:21 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: http://www.boygeniusreport.com     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The rumors about HTC Vox smartphone has emerged some time ago. Now you can come across live photos of this model supposedly.

I’d remind you that HTC Vox (or the S710) is a smartphone with two keyboards (digital and side sliding QWERTY). According to the preliminary info, the device doesn’t have anything outstanding except for the form-factor.

It doesn’t support 3G networks, but can work in GPRS/EDGE networks. The smartphone has TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor, 64 MB RAM and 128 MB flash ROM, 2-megapixel camera and microSD slot. The device is rumored to be powered by the new OS version – Windows Mobile Crossbow instead of Windows Mobile 5.0.
