3GSM, Barcelona  - Sony Ericsson is delighted to announce that its K800 Cyber-shot(TM) camera phone has been awarded Best 3GSM Handset at the GSM Association's Global Mobile Awards 2007.
Launched last year, the K800 is the first Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot camera phone, a brand that created a new lifestyle of mobile communication by combining a performance 3.2 Megapixel camera for quality image capture and a 3G mobile handset for fast and easy transfer and sharing of those images.

Anders Runevad, Corporate Executive Vice President and Head of Sales, Sony Ericsson said  "Our Cyber-shot portfolio has made true mobile imaging a reality for millions of people and we are very proud that the industry has endorsed our achievements with such a prestigious accolade

Since Cyber-shot camera phones were introduced in 2006, more than 4.5 million handsets have been sold worldwide.  The K800 was also put to use by the world's greatest secret agent in last year's James Bond movie, Casino Royale. The Cyber-shot camera phone range has now been extended to include the K810, K818, K550 and the K550im - the first
Cyber-shot phone to support i-mode.

LG shows how to turn Joy into KS10    [ 15-02-2007 16:45 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: http://aving.net     Translation by: Oleg Kononosov    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

LG Electronics showcased the KS10, its Symbian-smartphone, at 3GSM Congress. It seems that this is the index its previously announced LG Joy will be released under. In October we saw a pre-announcement, and since then almost nothing has changed about the phone's looks, generally, it is nothing to shout about, as all specifications are the same as before.

The smartphone does equally well in GSM and UMTS networks and also boasts HSDPA high-speed data transfer support. The KS10 comes included with a 2 Mpix auto-focus enabled camera, as well as a forward-facing VGA camera for video calls. Its display sports a diagonal of 2.4 inches and puts up a resolution of 240x320 pixels. The phone doesn't fall flat on other fronts, featuring microSD memory expansion slot and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

Author: Serge Novikov     Translation by: Saliquincer    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Nokia and Siemens will join together to present the future Nokia Siemens Networks. Driven by a desire to connect the world, the new company will have a capability to deliver convergent solutions based on a broad portfolio of fixed and mobile infrastructure products, services and devices. The planned merger to create Nokia Siemens Networks is expected to close in the first quarter 2007.

“Nokia Siemens Networks will be positioned to help our customers capture opportunities that will arise as the connected community swells to around five billion by 2015. In 2015, we will live in a broadband-IP world, in which five billion people in practice will be ‘always on’, connected to the Internet, rich content, services and of course each other,” said Simon Beresford-Wylie, designated Chief Executive Officer for the future Nokia Siemens Networks. “While Nokia Siemens Networks will have the scale to compete, we know that is just a starting point. As the world of telecommunications changes, we will also create customer value through end-user insight.”

According to the companies, Nokia Siemens Networks will have a particular focus on the following areas:

  • Business transformation and helping customers find and capture opportunities in the fast-changing market
  • Supporting customers in developing new revenue streams by understanding market trends and bringing new, innovative services to market
  • Providing products, services and solutions that help reduce operating expenses and partnering with customers to improve operational efficiency
  • Meeting the unique needs of new growth markets by working with customers to provide affordable voice and data solutions for end-users
  • Utilising the deep understanding the company will have in all areas of IP-centric convergence to identify and support new business opportunities for communication providers
  • Working closely with customers on issues of environmental responsibility, including lowering power consumption and reducing the weight and size of products
  • Bringing a full end-to-end expertise to help customers maximise investments and provide seamless experiences for end users

LG KE770 - Shiny candy-bar    [ 15-02-2007 12:58 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: http://www.handcellphone.com     Translation by: Oleg Kononosov    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

LG Electronics's very own KE770 was demonstrated at 3GSM Congress, which is taking place in Barcelona. Unlike the KE970, first model coming from Shine range to be released outside Korea, the new handset is packed into candy-bar form-factor.

No word on the handset's specifications yet, so there is nothing more to look at, except from the live photos, in which you can spot a 2 Mpix camera and metal casing, adopted from the senior solution.
