The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved Vodafone VDA IV mobile phone, known also as Vodafone 1210. Most likely this smartphone will be made by ASUSTeK Computer, as this very company applied for certification of the phone. Despite that the VDA IV will work in 3G networks, it doesn’t have a video camera, many took the power button for the camera, because of unusual location – near the talk speaker.

The specs of the VDA IV:

  • CPU: Intel PXA270, 312 MHz
  • Operating system: Windows Mobile 5.0 (Smartphone)
  • Networks: UMTS, GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz), GPRS Class 10
  • Memory: 128 MB Flash ROM, 64 MB SDRAM, microSD cards (without the hot swap)
  • LCD: 2.2”, TFT, 240x320 pixels, 65K colors
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth v1.2 / USB v1.1 (client + host)
  • Audio: 3.5 mm audio jack, built-in microphone and speakerphone
  • Dimensions: 109.5x46.9x18 mm
  • Weight: 103.3 g (with the battery – Li-Ion, 1100 mAh)
  • Audio and video opportunities: 40-tones polyphony, MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+, stream video
  • Internet surfing: HTTP and WAP 2.0
