At KES 2006 in Korea LG Electronics has displayed its new mobile phone, which might follow the steps of the Chocolate phone. It is called the Shine or KV4200/LV4200/SV420 (for 3 Korean operators).

According to the name the Shine has a shining shell and display, which takes the mirror effect when it is idle.

The Shine has more advanced specs compared to the Chocolate – a 2-megapixel camera, 1 GB of internal memory. The company plans to offer other color solutions later, all of them will have the same shining metallic effect.

UpDate. According to the official press-release the shell is made of stainless steel. The company expects to release the model not only in Korea (sales start soon), but worldwide. Technical details and the release date of the international version will be available early in 2007.

Author: Verà Kozlova   Source: CNETAsia.com     Translation by: Rytchkova Anja    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

CNETAsia has published some info on a new communicator by Gigabyte. At 3GSM Asia World Congress the company showed its g-Smart i200.

It is equipped with an integrated DVB-H receiver (DVB-T also expected) and a 2.69” VGA (480x640 pixels) touchscreen LCD, which is an outstanding feature for a communicator.

Other specs include 512 MB onboard, Windows Mobile version under the codename Crossbow (if it will be available by the release of the i200). Taking into account that the release date is set for the beginning of 2007, the latter is hardly possible.
