TrekStor has announced the European release of its TrekStor vibez player. This MP3-devcie was introduced at IFA 2006 show in Berlin for the first time and attracted much attention at once. The player features unusual design and an integrated 8 or 12 GB HDD. The 15 GB HDD version is scheduled for 2Q 2007.

TrekStor vibez is equipped with a 1.5” 176x132x65K color TFT LCD. The player optionally comes with an FM-tuner. It supports MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM (9 and 10), WAV, OGG and FLAC. The DJ mode automatically generates playlists arranged according to user’s mood. The built-in microphone enables the voice recorder function, and it’s possible to record music from external sources due to the line-in.

Measuring 105x50x18 mm it weighs 71 g. The player is fed by a Li-Ion battery (USB charge), which ensures up to 20 hours of playback. The recommended prices for the 8 GB and 12 GB models are ˆ199 and ˆ219 respectively.

In the Internet you can find the info that the Taiwanese company HTC is about to release its own UMPC next year.

There will be created a separate team of engineers to develop new devices with new communication opportunities, said a company’s spokesman in the interview to the Seattle Times. Taking into account the description there will be somewhat like tiny notebooks with long battery life on a single charge, the users will be able to make phone calls.

These ultra mobile PC will be available next year. HTC believes the UMPC market is very perspective.

The American operator Verizon Wireless has announced the release of a mobile phone LG VX8600. This is the “Chocolate ¹2”, the version with EV-DO. Late in July the operator released LG VX8500 – a version for CDMA networks supporting EV-DO high-speed data transfer standard.

Unlike the VX8500 slider the new phone is packed in a clamshell form. It is equipped with an MP3-player and buttons to access V CAST Music service and MP3-files.

The phone is equipped with a 1.3-megapixel camera, an expansion slot for microSD cards and Bluetooth interface. On a single charge the VX8600 lasts for 220 minutes in the talk made and 398 hours standby. The sales are already on. The recommended price after all discounts and on a 2-years service plan is $129.99.

The Japanese operator KDDI has announced a new mobile phone by Sony Ericsson – the W44S. This is a clamshell with additional free screen area, Nokia N93 and Nokia N92 smartphones have similar form-factor, however the construction is implemented in other way.

The phone is tuned for multimedia functionality, including video. The W44S is equipped with a huge 3” 16:9 widescreen LCD. It involves RealityMAX brand technology, which ensures high image resolution.

The camera features a 3.2-megapixel resolution, auto focus and image stabilization. Besides the phone supports digital radio service – wideband audio service with CD quality. The sales are expected to start early in December.
