Opera has announced the release of Opera Mobile 8.6 for Pocket PC browser – a version of Opera Mobile 8.6 browser for Windows Mobile handhelds. It supports Windows Mobile 5 and 2003 SE.

The new version has all the advantages of PDA screens with large size and higher resolution, allowing to view several Web-pages and switch between them, besides it supports both portrait and landscape screen orientation.

The advantages of Opera Mobile 8.6 for Pocket PC:

  • Automatic address entering (the browser remembers entered addresses)
  • Magnifying of text and images on pages
  • Downloading of any files and content
  • Full screen mode in addition to browser interface
  • Full pages or pages displayed with Small-Screen Rendering technology (there is no need in horizontal scrolling)
  • Pop-up windows block
  • Identification of save pages (where, according to the browser, the user won’t come across such threats as banking fishing, for example) they are marked with a special icon

Here you can download Opera Mobile 8.6 for Pocket PC, the trial version is effective during 30 days. Soon there will be available Opera Mobile for Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphones.

Samsung Electronics is offer another slim solution, it has announced the European release of its SGH-Z400 phone. The model was introduced at the CeBIT 2006 show in March.

The phone is positioned as the successor of the D600, but designed for 3G networks and in slimmer shell. This is a slider (19.2 mm thick) with up-to-date functionality. The approximate price for the SGH-X400 is not yet unveiled.

ASUSTeK Computer has release a leather notebook ASUS S6, which was shown on the eve of the CeBIT show in March. In its press release the company pays much attention to the high quality of leather applied in the notebook. This is the main peculiarity of the model.

As for the technical specs, the notebook is based on Intel Centrino Duo platform with Intel Core Duo L2300 or L2400 processors. This is a compact model equipped with an 11.1” widescreen LCD. Naturally there is the support of Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. The company paid attention to longer battery life achieved due to automatic power control technology ASUS Power4 Gear+, which sets 8 modes depending on system state.
