Plantronics has announced its Voyager 510-USB set. According to the company, this is the world’s first Bluetooth-system with the headset optimized to VoIP-calls. The Voyager 510-USB contains a Bluetooth-adapter with USB interface, so you can plug it to PC.

The headset supports connection of several Bluetooth-devices at once, in result the user can switch from the mobile phone to the PC “softphone” by pressing the single button. With Plantronics PerSonoCall software from the kit the signal on an incoming VoIP-call will be communicated to the headset, it will be possible to answer and finish calls.

The headset involves lower noise technology. It can work up to 6 hours in talk mode. The effective radius is some 10 meters. There is the support of PC charging via USB. The set will be available in June. The recommended price makes up $199.

Symbian has said that it started sales of an anniversary hundred’s smartphone based on Symbian OS in 1Q 2006.

Over 1Q the shipments of Symbian-smartphones achieved 11.7 million units, a year-on-year rise of 73%, against 10.89 million smartphones in 4Q 2005. Since the foundation the company had shipped 70.5 million smartphones. Symbian-smartphones are currently offered by 250 operators worldwide.

Apple goes on with new notebooks based on Intel Core Duo platform. At last it has released a long-awaited and much rumored compact notebook MacBook. Till this moment the company had already introduced 15” and 17” MacBook Pro.

It is equipped with a 13.3” widescreen LCD and stands out for its slim size and high productivity. The MacBook is positioned as the substitute to the compact iBook and 12” PowerBook. According to the company it is five times faster than the iBook and four times than the 12” PowerBook.

The recommended price for the MacBook starts from $1099. Currently there are three main models – with a 1.83 GHz processor in white shell and with a 2 GHz processor in white or black shell. I’d mark that connectivity opportunities do not include an integrated modem, a USB-modem is offered as an option.
