LG introduced dual slider with HSDPA

At Expo Com Korea 2006 LG Electronics has introduced a new mobile phone SH100. It supports high speed data transfer standard HSDPA. The company has provided little info about it so far.
One of peculiar things is the form factor of the phone. It can slide both vertically and horizontally. The landscape mode is likely to be meant for video calls. There is also Bluetooth interface and file viewer, UI involves Flash.

Today Pantech has announced the release of a mobile phone PG-6200 in Taiwan. The phone will be also introduced in Russia and Hong Kong this week.
I’d remind you that the PG-6200 was exhibited at 3GSM Congress in February. It stands out for a fingerprints sensor to identify users. Besides it features full value multimedia functionality.

Nintendo Wii to come out in 4Q

At the current E3 (Electronics Entertainment Expo) in Los Angeles Nintendo has unveiled some more details on the upcoming game console Wii (earlier known under the code name Revolution).
The release is set for 4Q 2006, i.e. the console should appear approximately by the Christmas sales. Besides Nintendo introduced a controller for the Wii and some new games. The controller is equipped with an integrated motion sensor, it looks like a TV remote control. The company hasn’t disclosed the price for the console so far.

At Mobile & Embedded DevCon conference in Las Vegas Microsoft has announced the release of Windows CE 6 beta-version, a new generation platform for compact and built-in devices, i.e. GPS-navigators, industry terminals, TV consoles, medical equipment and so on.
Windows CE 6 got renewed kernel architecture, so it’s possible to process more launched processes. There is new integrated set of tools to create devices supporting plenty of applications. The OS inherited functions and opportunities of previous versions.

Nokia 5500 Sport – a smartphone for active people

Today Nokia has announced its new smartphone protected from exposure and meant for active people, first of all. The model is called Nokia 5500 Sport.

Nokia 5500 Sport is a tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900) smartphone based on Symbian OS with S60 interface. It has Text-To-Speech function, calories counter, pedometer and fitness-tests. Nokia 5500 Sport is equipped with an FM-radio and an MP3-player, music tracks can be stored on a microSD card (up to 1 GB). There is MP3-player mode, when the phone part is off. The shell of the phone is made of stainless steel with additional dust and water protection.
