Viliv N.70 – a multimedia GPS navigator
[ 06-05-2006 01:22 ]
Author: Klimov Oleg Source: akihabaranews.com Translation by:
Ever more manufacturers combine functionality of several devices in one product. The Korean company Viliv followed this way and offered a GPS-navigator called N.70, which can also cope with playback of multimedia content.
I’d mark its high-quality 7” 480x234 pixels LCD, which can show streets of a city as well as TV-programs (it supports DMB broadcasting).
As for the GPS-navigation the N.70 is equipped with the traditional SiRF Star3 module. The device powered by WinCE 4.2 can be used as an ordinary media player for audio and video, the sound is communicated via built-in speakers and you can operate the playback with a remote control. There are SD and ÑÀ slots, so you can view photos. The price tag is about ˆ500.

Sony Blu-ray drives already available
[ 06-05-2006 00:38 ]
Author: Klimov Oleg Source: prnewswire.com Translation by:
The progress in the optical drives sphere is reflected in new formats. Many companies have already shown protos and serial samples of HD DVD and Blu-ray drives, however their price prevents them from high sales.
Besides there appear storage drives – following TDK Sony has announced the sales of its Blu-ray disks. There is info on the price – BD-R 25 GB and 50 GB cost $20 and $48 respectively. BD-RE 25 GB and 50 GB are priced at $25 and $60 respectively.
