IDC: mobile TV and video services have rosy prospects    [ 26-07-2006 11:25 ]

Author: Verà Kozlova     Translation by:    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The analytical company IDC predicts that in 2010 the US subscriber’s base of mobile video and TV- content and services would reach 24 million from the current 7 million.

Such growth implies new income opportunities for operators, mobile phone developers and content providers. Despite the share of subscribers using such services won’t exceed 10% in 2010, the analysts expect the commercial services related to TV and video content would become the main component for the service providers in the US.

The share of wideband services in operator’s income will rise to 85% in 2010, while the share was less than 50% last year.
