Skype introduced 4 VoIP-phones with Wi-Fi

Skype has announced 4 VoIP phones for its partners – Belkin WiFi Phone for Skype (F1PP000GN-SK), Edge-Core WiFi Phone for Skype (WM4201), NETGEAR WiFi Phone for Skype (SPH101) and SMC WiFi Phone for Skype (WSKP100). They are positioned as the first Wi-Fi phone tuned for Skype software.
The phones come with preinstalled Skype-client, so you can make calls without PC connection via Wi-Fi hot spots. They support popular encoding protocols, including WEP, WPA and WPA with PSK.
Skype says the phones will be available in 3Q 2006.

Motorola and Yahoo! have announced they signed an agreement, under which Yahoo! Go for Mobile application will be installed in new Motorola phones.
Yahoo! Go for Mobile is a set of Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Search, Yahoo! Address Book and Yahoo! Local services. Motorola will install Yahoo! Go for Mobile to its phones from the first half of 2007.

SCH-B450: a gamer phone supporting S-DMB services

Samsung Electronics has made a Korean release of another multi-functional device – the SCH-B450 mobile phone. It is made as a clamshell with quite original rotating LCD.
It supports S-DMB services, including DMB-VoD (Video on Demand). Besides it is focused on games. The SCH-B450 supports 3D graphics and is equipped with a graphical accelerator. Well, this form-factor and control buttons are tuned for games and viewing of DMB-programs.
Another peculiar feature about this phone is Vibe Tonz technology to accompany games with vibrating effects. The phone is also equipped with a 2.2” LCD, a 2-megapixel camera, an MP3-player and Bluetooth interface. The SCH-B450 will be available from the Korean operator SKT. The recommended price makes up 600 thousand Won, i.e. some $630.
