Panasonic releases new Blu-ray drive for PC    [ 21-04-2006 16:43 ]

Today Panasonic has announced the sales date of Blu-ray drive (BD) for PC in Japan from June 10, 2006. The model has LF-MB121JD index, it will be able to read/write single and double layer BD disks in addition to standard DVD and CD disks.

Till the start of sales of BD drive Panasonic will release 2x speed BD-R and BD-RW disks capacious of 25 GB and 50 GB. The sales date is scheduled for the end of April.

These BD drives for PC and notebooks will be available for manufacturers already this month.

Venzero has announced a new compact media player Venzero ONE. It stands out for a USB-connector for PC and extra USB port to exchange info with other USB-devices – for example, digital still cameras. In other words it supports USB OTG.

Besides it is equipped with a color LCD and FM-tuner. Venzero ONE can play music and video and also view photos. Its MusicMaker function allows recording music around. During PC connection it can be synchronized with PC data and automatically sent to MusicMaker server, which will analyze the track and communicate the track name, the artist and assist in getting it in the Internet.

Already now it’s possible to make a preorder at Venzero site. It will be available in mid June. With the preorder it will cost €289.9, i.e. some $360.
