Video: Siri Keeps Proximity Sensor Always On    [ 10-11-2011 20:54 ]

Siri may be doing a lot for you, but it looks like she's demanding quite a bit in return. It appears that Siri is keeping the iPhone 4S' proximity sensor on whenever the screen is activated according to iFixit. Previous iPhones only activated the proximity sensor when actually make a call. That's not the case with the the iPhone 4S, which keeps it continously. This is because Siri can be activated by raising the handset to your face and thus the phone needs to know whenever you do that because it won't always be when you are making a call. You can see the action play out in the video below:

Video: The Humanform by Nokia    [ 10-11-2011 20:50 ]

Admittedly when I hear the words "vision of the future" I haven't thought of Nokia for a while now, but this concept they've cooked up looks pretty damned sweet. It's called the Humanform and it's one vision of what mobiles could be from the Finnish manufacturer. The device is in the shape of a tear drop, but is highly flexible, being able to bend with ease, due to 'nanotechnology'. The whole device is one big touchpad accepting input. It's a cool concept although given the current state of consumer technology probably not feasible for a good few years yet.
