BGR are on a bit of a roll today, not only scoring some information about changes to the iPad/iPhone, but also securing a picture of the BlackBerry Dakota, the new top gun in RIM's stable of smartphones.

In terms of specs we're looking at a quad band handset with tri-band UMTS and 5 MP camera running Blackberry OS 6.1. There's 768 MB of RAM to keep everything running smoothly and 4 GB of internal storage. The screen is 2.8 inches with a VGA resolution and there is support for WiFi (b,g and n). The device can be used a mobile hotspot and there's even HD video recording thrown in too.
The mid-range of the Blackberry line-up isn't being forgotten though as the next generation of the Curve has been spotted too, codenamed Apollo. The specs are obviously a little lower than the Dakota, but then it is a mid-range offerring.

The next generation iPad will apparently be announced in early April according to MacNotes.de. The reports says that the device will appear in the U.S. first, on either 2nd or 9th April and will be exclusive to the U.S. for up to three months before going global, similar to how the original iPad was launched.
The report also says that the new iPad will be available only through Apple in the first instance with other retailers like Best Buy et al having to wait as long as October for the chance to start selling it. This last part is a little surprising perhaps given that Apple have been ramping up production capacity and indeed the original iPad was available through third party retailers at launch so why it would be different this time around isn't clear.
Reliable sources told us about the upcoming launch of the Apple iPad 2: the first or second Saturday in April will see the first sales of Apples new tablet. The iPad 2 will sell US-only for three months, and Apple Store-only for up to half a year. In July, more countries will follow. Walmart, Best Buy and Co. maybe have to wait until October until they are allowed to sell Apples new tablets.
Specs wise the report pretty much reiterates what rumour has already given us; namely two cameras, one on the front for FaceTime presumably, a higher resolution display, but not as high as that found on the iPhone 4, and of course the latest piece of the puzzle is the suggestion that the next iPad will lack a Home button too.

Sometimes executives can be most forthcoming with information and we can add Todd Bradley, a VP at HP, to that list. During an interview with CNBC he was asked about HP's plans to compete with the likes of the iPad and the answer he gave was "you and I will talk about that on the 9th".
That sounds pretty clear as a date for HP's webOS tablet to launch. Bradley went on to say that HP decided not to unveil its tablet at CES because of the saturation of tablets and devices on show, which would presumably rob a webOS tablet of some of the limelight. Instead the unveiling looks to be happening in San Francisco on 9th February, which should allowfor the press to focus on whatever is announced.

BGR have been given a hot tip that Apple plans on scrapping the Home button from both the iPad and the iPhone with the change perhaps coming as early as the next incarnation of each device, presumably in the coming months.
Apple is of course famous for its drive to rid its devices of extraneous buttons and it looks like the Home button is the next to go. Replacing it will be multi-touch gestures according to BGR's source, described as being someone working at Apple itself.
Indeed support for multi-touch gestures has been added to the latest beta version of iOS 4.3 and the source stated that iPads and iPhones sans the Home button are already being tested at Cupertino.
With new versions of the iPad and iPhone expected in the not too distant future it shouldn't be a long wait to find out how this pans out.
