Huawei Honor Leaks With Impressive Spec List    [ 30-08-2011 13:12 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Land of Droid     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

What do we have here? Why it's the Huawei Honor aka the U8860! It's probably not a handset many will hve heard of before and with good reason, Huawei aren't exactly a world renowned handset manufacturer in most people's minds. Anyway the handset has been leaked out and handily there are some specs to go with it.

Starting us off is a 1.4 Ghz processor followed by a 4 inch FWGVA LCD display. The camera it's packing is rated at 5 MP and can record video at 720p. The handset is pretty thin coming in at just 9mm. Android is the OS of choice here and it is running some version of Gingerbread although exactly which version isn't mentioned.

This will apparently be Huawei's flagship model and given the spec list we can see why. There's no word as yet on availability or pricing, but even if Huawei aren't well known for their handsets (yet) this little sweetheart might just start to change that perception.

Video: HTC Sense 3.5    [ 30-08-2011 11:07 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: via Engadget     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

HTC's newest incarnation of its Sense UI, version 3.5, has been doing the rounds in picture format lately. Well here we have it in moving picture format i..e video. It's running on the HTC Bliss in case you wondered what the handset was and yes that's the same Bliss that will be targeted at your better half.

The new version of Sense shown here is apparently running on top of Android 2.3.4. The UI looks pretty clean, cleaner than previous versions of Sense. There are the familiar seven homescreens to choose from and each homescreen can have its contents deleted by dragging it into the trash section at the bottom of the screen. Probably the most obvious difference to regular Sense users will be the absence of the panel at the bottom of the homescreen. It has been replaced by two buttons, one on the left and one on the right. These activate the handset's phone features and app tray.

Video: BlackBerry Bold 9900 Broken Down & Put Together Again    [ 30-08-2011 00:30 ]

I'm a sucker for teardown videos even if they make a geek like me squirm. I spotted this little gem today; it's a walkthrough of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 being stripped down to its wiring and then re-assembled. If nothing else it's interesting to get a look inside.
