Just yesterday I posted a piece on how rumours of a Septembe rlaunch for the iPhone 5 had been given fresh creduility by Telefonica downsizing their iPhone 4 stock in the run up to 12th September. I also said that the iPhone 5 October camp usually immediately comes back with some new supporting 'evidence' of its own. Well here we go ...
9to5Mac are today reporting that sources have confirmed to them that the iPhone 5 will begin sales on 7th October. Apparently Apple are trying to decide between a 7th October launch or a 14th October launch, with the 7th being the current favourite given that production is going well. There is an interesting corollary to this in that Apple will apparently, for the first time, allow for pre-orders of the iPhone 5. The pre-ordering is allegedly going to begin near the end of September, with the 30th looking most likely. If that's true then it means the announcement of the device would have to take place in September.

Symbian Belle, the update for the unreleased Anna, was briefly on full view for the world to see today as DailyMobile made it available for download. However, with users experiencing issues the download was pulled and the announcement was made that it would possibly be back up tomorrow. Have no fear though because the Symbian Anna is now available for the N8 through NaviFirm although there is currently no confirmation of it being available through OTA or Ovi Suite, but you might want to keep checking.
In the meantime for the Belle fanatics take a swatch at the video below:

The ongoing patent dispute between Apple and Samsung resulted in Apple succeeding in having Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet device blocked from sale in Germany and Australia. Samsung didn't seem too bothered though as they came out saying that the Tab 10.1 would be launched in Australia anyway.
Backing that position is this picture of a flyer from Australia announcing a launch date for the device of 1st September. Apart from sticking two fingers up at Apple the date is important itself because it is just two days after the expected 29th August hearing of the Apple vs Samsung legal case. Either Samsung is overconfident of their chances of victory or they know something we don't. Either way they're defiantly thumbing their nose at Apple.
