Video: Nokia X7?    [ 26-11-2010 12:07 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: modryzub.net     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Well well well, what's this we have here? Could it be the Nokia X7? It's not been confirmed as being the bona fide article yet, but the general consensus amongst the tech pundits so far is that it is very much the real deal.

The design  features four speakers, all the better for its entertainment focus, as well as 4 inch screen and an 8 MP rear camera. OS wise it's Symbian running the show as you might expect.

Check out the video below and watch it tear through Need for Speed. Quite impressive actually.

EDIT: The video seems to have gone walkabout now, the result of being put into private mode.

Video: DoCoMo Enlists Darth Vader To Sell Galaxy S    [ 26-11-2010 11:45 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: WSJ     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

I've seen a lot of mobile phone adverts over the years, some good, some bad, and some just odd. This video from Japanese network DoCoMo definitely fits into the last category, but so much so that it's pretty damned brilliant.

What's so odd? Well they have Darth Vader just hanging around with people using the Galaxy S handset they're trying to hawk. There's no real explanation as to why he's there, but he is, and somehow it works out pretty well. I don't claim to understand the reason for him being there, all I know is that he is and that is pretty cool. Hmmm I want a Galaxy S now ...
