Copy-Paste for Windows Phone 7? Microsoft Says No!    [ 18-03-2010 11:26 ]

Microsoft have caused a bit of a stir with the revelation that Windows Phone 7 Series won't have copy/paste. Apparently Microsoft conducted some market research and according to that research copy/paste isn't something that most people do very often. The issue is of course reminiscent of the long march towards copy/paste functionality on the iPhone, but mIcrosoft have said that they have no plans to add it at a later date. What Microsoft is doing instead is using a system wide data detection system that allows the user to action relevant data such as sending an email address to the email client of their choice and so on. It most definitely isn't copy/paste though. Even Office and OneNote are affected by this, with Microsoft aying that most customers will want to view and comment on documents rather than move them. All in all it looks like Microsoft have drawn a line in the sand and they aren't likely to cross it.
