New 'Similar' Tab Rolling Out To Froyo Users    [ 03-12-2010 16:42 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Android Central     Translation by:    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The Android Market has come in for some criticism over the years and few would disagree that it could use some love. The release of Gingerbread, suppsoedly within the next few weeks, should ring some much needed improvements to the Market such as the ability to include more pictures and videos in descriptions, but it seems that a minor, albeit very useful, improvement is already being rolled out.

Some people are reporting that a 'Similar' tab has been added to the Market and appears when viewing an app description. The tab, as the names suggests, shows similar apps to the one currently selected and should help to make finding apps easier.

Not all Android users are seeing the tab appear, for one thing is appears restricted to Froyo users, but even amongst that band of users not everyone can see it yet. It seems to be automatically appearing for some so just keep your eyes peeled!

Samsung Sells 1 Million Galaxy Tabs    [ 03-12-2010 16:04 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: Daum     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Samsung have announced that their Android powered tablet device, the Galaxy Tab, has passed the 1 million sales mark. That marks a a big leap from the 600,000 sales that came to light just two weeks ago and Samsung are now projecting a total of 1.5 million sales by the end of 2010.

That seems an increasingly likely figure, especially now that Christmas is almost upon us. It also demonstrates the confidence Samsung have that their device, despite the greater publicity and mindshare of the iPad can still perform well. It should also give other manufacturers preparing to launch their own tablet devices a boost in knowing that te iPad isn't the only show in town.
