Orange UK to Sell iPhones from 10th November    [ 26-10-2009 19:27 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: The Guardian     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The big story of the day in the UK is that Orange are apparently set to begin selling the iPhone on 10th November. That's around two weeks away and one day after O2's exclusivity agreement with Apple ends. It's also the same day that Vodafone announces their financial results, so all in all a feature packed day! The Vodafone connection won't be lost on Orange given that Vodafone are set to sell the iPhone themselves early next year. With Orange selling the iPhone from November there will be something of a two horse race in the lead up to Christmas in the UK although O2 may find themselves hampered by the level of resources they've sunk into the Palm Pre. There's been no word on pricing at Orange yet, but many are expecting them to undercut O2 in some way.

Adding to the mix is the UK's smallest major network, 3. Their CEO, Kevin Russel, has gone on record as saying that he expects 3 UK to begin selling the iPhone sometime during 2010. If that proves to be true T-Mobile would be left as the only major British network without Apple's iconic device.
