Dell Mini 3i Headed For Brazil & China    [ 13-11-2009 19:20 ]

There has been a great deal of talk for months now (it feels like a lot longer) about what Dell were up to regarding the appearance of a smartphone. Well Dell have come out and confirmed the Dell Mini 3i smartphone, running Android. In an interesting move Dell will launch the device in Brazil and China first rather than the more mature markets of Europe and North America. In Brazil it;s the Claro network that will have the honour of picking up Dell's first offering and it has 42 million customers across the region. In China it will be the one and only China Mobile, which is the largest network in the world. The pattern here is clear, Dell has chosen some large networks in developing countries. The numbers are certainly on Dell's side, but of couse much depends upon pricing and features. Speaking of which the specs list seems to be under some speculation at the moment with the main points being a 3.5£ capacitive touchscreen and 360x640 display. As for the rest of the world there's currently no word on when the 3i will show up, but Dell are saying that it is part of the larger Dell Mini 3 smartphone range.
