Windows Marketplace for Mobile Open to Devs    [ 04-05-2009 17:32 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Mobile Burn     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

App stores seem to be all the rage these days and as such Microsoft has opened up Windows Marketplace for Mobile to developers with its terms and guidelines for submitting Windows 6.5 apps. In a revenue sharing deal, similar to the Apple App Store, developers keep 70% of the sales generated by their apps. A $99 fee allows a developer to release up to five applications in the store. If a developer wants to release more than five applications he will be charged $99 for every additional app beyond the first five covered by the initial $99. Developers do save some cash in that software updates will be given to them gratis.

Nokia Launches N97 Preview & Pre-Order Site    [ 04-05-2009 17:15 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Engadget     Translation by: Administrator    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Nokia have launched a new mini-site for the forthcoming N97 ahead of its expected June launch. The site features the usual options of viewing pictures and videos of the handset as well as seeing it in different colours. There is also an interactive tour so that you can 'try out' the handset before you buy and Nokia have also added a pre-order link should you be suitably impressed. The pre-order ability is only valid for America, Germany, Italy, and Sweden at the moment and Nokia USA are advertising a handset only price of $699, which is pretty much what one would expect for a handset like this. Vodafone are scheduled to release the handset in the UK around July so expect a pre-order option for the UK soon. You can take a look at the N97 site here.
