Orange Has Best UK 3G Coverage ... O2 Has Worst    [ 23-07-2009 15:28 ]

A detailed picture of the state of 3G coverage in the UK has been created through a report by the British telecommunications regulator Ofcom. The findings make for interesting reading with Orange leading the pack with 93% of the British population covered. 3 comes a close second with 91% coverage. T-Mobile have affirmed that they are on course for 98% 3G coverage by 2010. In fourth place is Vodafone with 85% coverage. Bring up the rear is O2 with ... well we don't know because they are refusing to give an exact figure. They do say that they have met the requirement of covering 80% of the population, but beyond that we don't know exactly what the figure is. O2's level of coverage is quite poor in comparison to the market leaders Orange and 3. When comparing the coverage maps of the various networks O2's stands out as being very patchy.
